The VisionWorking towards equality for LGBT and other diverse adults, their families and supporters in Dumfries and Galloway.

LGBT Plus aims to empower lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, queer, intersex, asexual, pansexuals and others questioning or expressing their gender identity and sexuality (otherwise known as LGBT Plus), their families, friends, supporters and allies across Dumfries and Galloway. We support the LGBT community to feel safe, supported and engage more confidently within their local communities and become active citizens by providing a range of events and support services.

Our LGBT timeline shows key dates in the development of lesbian, gay, bi and trans history in terms of social, political and legislative change.

The LGBT Plus timeline was created by three Social Work Students at the University of South West Scotland.

DGPRIDE 2018

DGPride took place on Saturday the 15th of September 2018 and was a huge success! Check out our highlights video!

Our wide ranging events include cafes, dinners, films, lunches, walks, rainbow day outings to fundraisers, LGBT Plus’s events are a great way to get involved with our community and have fun across our region

Look after your sexual health

Your sexual health is not just about preventing a pregnancy or an STI, it is also about feeling good and getting the most out of your relationships. Taking care of your sexual health really matters! It is just as important as keeping the rest of your body healthy.

At LGBT Plus we offer a range of information and support services. If you need immediate help and feel you are at risk or are having thoughts about suicide, please click the immediate help button below.

LONG TERM CONDITION SUPPORT -
 You can meet with a self management specialist to get guidance on how to get back into the driving seat and manage your long term condition

ADVOCACY SUPPORT -
 Meet privately to discuss personal concerns and receive support to connect with other agencies.

COUNSELLING -
One to One counselling is available covering a range of LGBT issues including specific Transgender support

BEFRIENDING -
When necessary you can be paired with one of our volunteer befrienders.

PSCYCHOTHERAPUTIC GROUP SUPPORT -
 Our weekly group supports the more vulnerable of the LGBT community

ALTERNATIVE THERAPIES –
 A range of therapies including Reiki and Creative therapy are available to enhance your life
