Volunteer with LGBT Plus
Volunteers of all ages are very actively involved in helping us run our services, and as such we recognise the important contribution that volunteers make in helping us achieve our aims. We are committed to providing exciting opportunities, regular and on-going support, training and social opportunities to enable volunteers to develop their skills, enhance their volunteering experiences and help them contribute to the wider community and progress to positive destinations. There are lots of ways you can volunteer your time to help D&G LGBT Plus, either on a regular or occasional basis. Some of our volunteer roles include
Befriender - for isolated LGBT Plus people Activity Host - running social events and activities across D&G Group Work Volunteer - helping staff to run support groups Fundraising & Events Volunteer - raising vital funds and running exciting events in the process Community Representative - making sure the voices of LGBT Plus people are heard at a local and national level Communications Volunteer - ensuring our message gets to the people in need.
Join our Board
D&G LGBT Plus is governed by a Board of Trustees who are who are responsible for ensuring that the charity is well-managed in line with OSCR charitable regulations, in-line with our aims and strategic purpose.If you are committed to our aims, keen to apply your skills at Board level, and able to attend meetings regularly, then please consider putting yourself forward for the role of Trustee. As a Trustee you would have varied responsibilities and serve a vitally important role within the charity, including;
- Act in the interests of the charity
- Ensure compliance with the Charities and Trustee Investment (Scotland) Act 2005
- Review details on the Scottish Charity Register
- Report to OSCR: making changes to the charity
- Keep financial records and reporting
- Support fundraising
- Providing information to the public
